Our Day at the Capitol was exhilarating...talk about sensory
overload! We took advantage of a great opportunity to meet many of our
legislators..we even met the Governor (thanks to Mr. Thibodeaux, our
lobbyist). SPALS and LSHA members generated a lot of enthusiasm in the
Rotunda, sending messages to legislators on the floor, administering hearing
tests, and handing out ear plugs and bottled water ("Hydrate while you
Legislate!"). I'm sure everyone would agree that the experience was well-worth
the effort. The push to secure funding for our salary supplement needs
everyone's help...contact the legislators, especially those on the House
Appropriations Committee, as soon as possible.
A special thanks to you who were at the Capitol, impacting
our cause and making the day a success.
