Reminder: Phyllis Butler from the State Department of Education will attend the SPALS Round Table on Friday, October 15 at 7:45 a.m. She will answer questions related to the SALSA initative.

If you have any questions that you would like to have addressed, please send them to your Regional Representative at your earliest convenience so they can be forwarded to Ms. Butler. She wants to have the most accurate information for her answers and will research the questions prior to the Conference. You can access the SALSA initiative on our website.

18th Annual SPALS Conference

It is the mission of Speech Pathologists and Audiologists in Louisiana Schools (SPALS) to provide the highest quality of affordable continuing education to school-based speech/pathologists and audiologists.   We provide a very comprehensive program that addresses the many challenges that are often faced in the public school setting.

General Course Objectives:  Upon completion, participants will be able to demonstrate an understanding of theoretical basis of various disorders and therapy techniques and develop a keen awareness of professional issues that impact the educational venue.

Continuing Education:

This course is offered for 1.1 CEU (Intermediate level; Professional area). There is a $30 processing fee for non-LSHA members.  This $30 fee is charged by LSHA, not ASHA, for the purpose of processing non-member CEU forms and reporting this information to ASHA.  This fee must be paid at the time of the activity.  LSHA members receive complimentary ASHA CEU processing as a benefit of membership.  The Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology (LBESPA) accepts continuing education activities sponsored by LSHA for licensure renewal.
